Forgive the video quality. This is very old technology (.avi file). Brady has been

- SAY HI! TARGETING - Not Just for Shy Dogs!
- Say Hi Targeting is a good tool that is usually used with shy dogs. I found with my Beardie, Joey, that it's
also great for dogs who are over-exuberant in their greetings with people. Click here for article.

- RECIPES FOR GOOD TRAINING TREATS
- Vary your training treats! It's always a good idea to bring at least
three varieties of high value treats to class. This allows you to change treats so your dog doesn't become
satiated by constantly getting the same treat. Even something wonderful can become ho-hum if it's the only
training treat available.
- Here are some recipes for home-made treats. You can control the ingredients. If your dog is sensitive to one type of
ingredient, change that ingredient. Experiment! Find what works. By mixing up the sources of meat protein, you have a better
chance of your dog not becoming sensitized to one type of meat.
- And for small dogs, it's always a plus to keep the calories under control yet still provide 200 or 300 repetitions of
training per day. YES! I really said 200 - 300 repetitions of training. We all want reliable behaviors, right? Learning
requires lots of successful repetitions with a high rate of reinforcement using something that dog *loves* to work
for.
