MARK IT!

The process is simple – we choose a behavior to teach and, when the dog does something that looks like the beginning of that behavior, we mark the action with a clicker (or something else that makes brief, distinctive sound.) 

Almost like taking a photograph of what the dog did at that moment, the clicker tells the dog “Yes! That’s what I wanted you to do!”

Clicker training is a fun, effective way of teaching our dogs anything from simple manners to complex tricks – basically anything your dog is physically capable of doing you can teach with
clicker Training!

When a behavior is reinforced, it will be repeated; so we’re able to “build” whatever behaviors we want to teach.

 

REINFORCE IT !

 

We then reinforce that behavior with something the dog really likes (as you can imagine, food is a biggie for most dogs although we can also use toys, play, petting, praise - anything the dog will work to obtain.)
