Started in 1989, CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

YOUR DOG CAN BE A CANINE GOOD CITIZEN !
Dogs in this class learn to sit or lie down and stay, come when called, walk on a loose leash, greet people calmly even if there is a dog with the person and to be left with a kind stranger for a few minutes—everything we want our dogs to be able to do in a public setting such as out for a walk in the park.
This class may be repeated as often as necessary to be fully prepared to take the CGC test. |
